I refuse to let it be a whole year!

You heard me!

I don't want to embarrass myself by acting like people actually care about this post, but I'll just say I'm sorry to anyone who has felt "down" these past 11 months that I haven't posted. I really do think captioning is a form of escape, expression, and connection for the authors and the readers, and I think it's worth it for me to make the time to caption.

I feel like I'm a bit different now, so I'll likely be doing caption concepts that fit with the way I tend to think nowadays... so expect more "real you" and "tehs' feelings" caps, which I know aren't everyone's favorites.

That's not to say I won't be asking for requests again, but that selection process might be different too... (stay tuned?)

But all this is dependent on me actually following through. Just gimme a little time to figure out a pace I can maintain. I refuse to fail to upload a caption before June 24th, 2019 though!

  1. Hey, just putting this out there, as a very long time follower of your blog (I was actually thinking about you yesterday) and a first time poster of comment, take your time. I love your captions. They're always fantastic, well thought out, and amazing to read. Super glad to hear you might be back, but don't feel too much pressure to continue just because. Caption because you want to, not because we expect you to. There's nothing wrong if you want to continue with a hiatus. We'll always be here whenever you're ready to come back. You do you.

    1. Ohhh this means so much to me Crunch! Glad you appreciate the thought I try and put into these things.

Also, I respect your advice a ton and always tell new captioners who are asking for advice the SAME thing.

    1. Aw thank you so much. Stuff like this really makes me want to just keep captioning. So glad to hopefully be back. Getting a caption written after a year felt good (though I'm so rusty!).

  5. I'm glad to see you are never going to give up! You were the inspiration to why I became a captioner and to think I've almost been at this six years now! I really like your "real you" concept you came up with!

Hope you end up trying on some of the "real you" stuff too. I think there's so much to do with it.

  9. Glad to see you're back! A year really is a long time... I know the feeling, I too made a comeback to captioning just yesterday. Inactivity is dreadful, but so is trying to find the time to write when there's just too little of it. Let's all hope you get to enjoy the escapism again - just try not to stress over it!

    1. Oh yeah you get it. You know, finding the time really is something everyone is trying to master, and as I alluded to in a previous post, it gets even harder as different parts of your life change, but I feel like it's good to keep up habits that are healthy. And I didn't really understand in what aspect(s) this habit was keeping me healthy until I reflected on my distance from it these past few years.

  10. Like everyone else here, I'm very glad that you are back. You are one of the finest TG captioners I know, even if you only make only a few caps per year. (Some people out there upload multiple pics every day, but they quickly get repetitive, so this isn't a bad thing at all.) When you post some content, it's always epic. So don't put pressure on yourself, and just enjoy writing again.

    1. Yeah I'm kind of excited about it too. I'm trying to do a new method where anytime I think of an idea I write it down and then just remember to expand on it later...

    1. Oh boy I'm gonna regret saying this, but, you can email them if you'd like or put them in the Request Thread on the side bar. The DIFFERENCE, is that I'm really looking for people to do some introspection when they request, which I'll talk more about in a post at some point. But basically, if you request something, I want you to try and be honest with me (and yourself) about what it is you *really* want from the caption.

For example, if you want to see a caption where Brie Larson agrees to rent her body out to a young fan, I want you to be honest with me about what you're looking for there. Maybe you feel like it'd be interesting to see someone with such a strong, feminist image all of the sudden embodied by someone who literally just wanted her for her body? Whatever it is I'm curious and want to only make captions that are thoughtful from now on.

  19. Hello Tehs! I'm very glad to see you back and well.

I'm looking forward reading your new captions. On that regard I realize now that I submitted so many requests back in the day, my apologies if that caused you any discomfort.

    Cheers!

    1. Ah don't worry about it. But I appreciate the apology! (even if it's absolutely unnecessary) Hopefully you'll be sending in some requests once I get the new style for requests settled.

I'm going to post an idea for a request, I hope you enjoy it.

Really glad you're back, one of my all-time favourite captioners, sorry I'm late to: WELCOME BACK! :D

    2. It wasn't so much disappointment as it was concern, so I'm glad you're doing okay and back at it. :) I've actually been reading your caps for many years and never posted until this month, so I'm very grateful for all that time and appreciate your response too.

Even if I don't post again (I just tend not to post), know that there are those of us who do very much enjoy your caps and appreciate the time and effort you put into them, even if we don't speak up to say so.

Consider posting more too! I also enjoy hearing from the mix of everyone who is out there and making this more than a one-sided adventure we're going on.
