My theory is that the ex-girlfriend's best friend was approached by the Real You people, and agreed to swap bodies with him because she knew that he would hate it. As some sort of twisted revenge ;)
I'm not sure how the Real You magic or tech works. I do love the idea that his enemy know he wanted her body . . . It would also be cool if she wanted his, because she always had a crush on her BFF but knew she would never get her as long as she was female. Getting his male body gives her a chance to have her BFF as her girlfriend.
Back to the mysteries... was this body stolen?
