My idea is that the real Angelina DID in fact try and report her shift and be an actress again, but for some reason, the new body she was in (she was swapped with the body of the old star of this cap, Jean) "wasn't quite right" for any of the parts. So, in other words, her acting didn't work as well without her beautiful body, and she was de-famed, you could say, while the one with her body was made infamous.
