93 Days

Had this idea while thinking about if there was a pitfall
to the usual mystical things we write about
(e.g., the ability to hop bodies).

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

    1. Thank you thank you! I really had fun writing this one.

This is one where I could've just sat in this world with this character for like 20 captions. But I'm so impatient I don't think I would be able to do it.

  3. If it was true, if it was possible, could you, or would do it, would be you, or someone else. Or mixer of both. Would you have a sense, of something, that creep up, you remember something, something doesn't fit who you are now. Would be her. That is a question now.

    1. Hm, not sure if this is an actual question for me, or just some thoughts written. But I'm gonna answer what I see anyway. I think that I personally would keep jumping. I don't love myself, really, so it's not about losing myself. It's more that I'd just want to keep living as other people.

  4. Heyhey -- I noticed your post in another thread, so don't worry about posting the same requests more than once! Just wanted you to know I see it all. :)

As for your request, we shall see... as I've said before, I'm unreliable, but I just may end up doing it. Time will tell.

  6. Very interesting.

Going a bit further with this, what would happen if Nicole got jealous of someone's body/life down the road. Would Shayla's power still exist, would Shayla reappear or would it be Nicole who learns how to swap.

I know its not something one can actually answer, but what do you think would happen?

    1. The way I envisioned this, Shayla's power is more a curse out of her control. It's like a virus she's fighting off. I didn't want to get dark, but I kind of was thinking about it like dementia in a way... the idea being that you're losing parts of yourself and keep trying to fight it, but that if you let it take complete hold of you that you might actually lose yourself. Obviously not a 1-to-1 perfect comparison there, but the idea is that I don't think she'd be able to get back to her old self or memories... and I don't think she'd be able to unlock her "power" either.

Oh, but if you wanna write a new version where that DOES happen, please do! (And send me the link!)

  7. What happens to the old bodies after Shayla jumps to a new one? I assume they go back to normal like nothing happened. Or do they realize they lost time?

    1. Good question -- I wonder as well...

Could see it being that they are just like (1) Wow, I didn't realize I missed time, what the heck just happened? or (2) that they remember bits and pieces of what happened but have difficulty understanding why they did the things they did (almost like you're in a dream, drugged, or blackout drunk).

  8. Very good concept. Very well written series of captions, that really touch on aspects of body swaps and possessions. It fits with some of the aspects I've thought about when it comes to this.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I really liked the idea of focusing on someone afflicted with something like this. I think a lot of us like the ambivalence that comes with receiving bodies that are nice in many ways but that it isn't all perfect.
